Shared Parameter Not editable

Any idea why a shared parameter loaded into a project and categorized as Project Information is not Editable?

Its just a Text parameter. Creating it as a Project Parameter works fine.

What is strange is that I have loaded 4 parameters that are all the same (txt, Project Info) and 2 are editable and 2 are not?

Well, not really - it's most likely the parameters have the same name but originate from different Shared Parameter files and as a result, have a different GUID.

Exactly! And then you have to figure out which one is the right one.... I've ranted about Shared Parameters before, so I won't repeat myself other than saying it's a flawed concept...

As I understand it, the OP is saying that 2 of the 4 the Project Parameters he created from Shared Parameter Text File(s), and assigned to Project Information, are NOT editable under Project Information - meaning that he cannot input in any text into its field.   It's empty.

That is what is strange to me.  Even if the parameters were the same name, but different GUIDs, it would still be strange to me.  I don't have any like issues - as my screenshot proves.

That is the issue. Cannot post the file, but here is the screenshot of project information. Is there a restriction on using the word Revit in a SP? I renamed the parameter in the file deleted and reloaded and it works? Tried 123456 for instance and its fine. I was unaware there are any naming restrictions as indicated by the posts above where you can have 2 SP with the same name but different GUID

Well then I am stumped. Revit Ver. is not editable in any of the RTE or RVT files I load it into. I have even deleted the SP entirely from the file and recreated it still, still not editable in any of the projects under PI.

nor would I expect the name to be a problem. The name is not what distinguishes the SPs. The GUID is what distinguishes them.

Are you editing the Shared Parameter file directly via a text editor? If so the SP file says not to do that... I have in the past without causing an issue but perhaps some corruption has resulted in this case. I don't recall how to do it, right now, but it is possible to create a "hidden" shared parameter, perhaps that's related to this situation.

Edit: Dan Stine's explanation for creating hidden parameters.
