If a family is shared or not shared, and it is loaded into a project (not into another family), there won't be any difference. Now, if a family is shared and nested into another host family, and that host family is loaded into a project, then the user can select the shared family using the Tab key, can tag that family, and can show that family in schedules. The shared family will be listed in the project browser, also.
