Hi,
When we acquire coordinates from a linked DWG file, Revit establishes a bound with this linked file. After linking the file, we usually delete this bound by clicking on "Shared Site/Default Location" and "Do not share site of selected instance". If not, Revit can create a new SCU in the DWG file with the name "REVIT60-DefaultLocation", with a slight offset from the original SCG. Sometimes, it can be really annoying.
Does anyone know from where des it come from ? And why does it indicate "60"?
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely.
I'm not understanding what your objection is to the Revit 60. That's critical to Shared Coordinates. Why would you remove it? I would suggest however, saving to a Named Site in Revit -- not to Default/Internal.

I don't have objection to the Revit 60 and I don't want to remove it, I just want to understand. Thank you for the link, now I know that "60" comes from Revit 6.0 ![]()
Yes we save the position in a named site in Revit after acquiring coordinates, but we usually don't want to create a new SCU in the DWG file, which is already georeferenced. The fact is that when REVIT60-DefaultLocation UCS is created and DWG file re-linked to Revit, it's often positioned at a wrong position. In such a situation, we need to delete this REVIT60-DefaultLocation SCU in Autocad, and use instead the georeferenced SCU (SCG). Then everything works well.
Thank you @barthbradley for your information.
Edit : The benefits I see with this REVIT60-DefaultLocation UCS is to georeference DWG files that are not already georeferenced, linked floor plans for example. However, we often work with linked Revit file in such situation, not linked DWG file. Most of the linked DWG files we use in Revit are related to the site, and they are already georeferenced.
