Shadow haze/blotch appearing where it shouldn't

We have elevation views in Realistic mode.  There are shadow blotches appearing above the roof canopies on the wall.  The way everything is set up they shouldn't have anything like this showing.  We tried changing the material/appearance settings of the canopy roof material to a bunch of different options to try and get rid of it and that doesn't work.  Only deleting the canopy seems to get rid of it.

The weirdest thing is when you select the roof, the blotch goes away, so it makes me think there is some kind of graphics card issue going on?

Nope.  We turned off and on all the visible settings we could find to see if anything changed.

What is your material setting and position of the light? Sometimes if you have high glossiness material, it will bounce those weird shadow. As well I find if you change the angle of the sun, it may make that ambient shadow disappear.

The original material appearance setting is based on a flat/matte paint with a light gray color.  It has no other properties that would give it reflection or refraction.  We actually added those properties thinking it would help brighten up the wall instead and it seemed to do a little of that but not getting rid of it entirely.

I think I will go ahead and submit this as a ticket to Autodesk.  Thanks.
