Self-Illuminating Materials not Shown Through Glass

Hi There,

I am trying to complete an external render in Revit 2019.0.1

I have a lighting fixture with an self illuminating material in it.

The material shows correctly when not behind anything however where I have this lighting fixture behind glass louvers the self illuminating material doesn't display.

See that attached photo where the lighting is visible in both situations.

Not following. Self illuminating material is not light source - nor is it affected by light.  It only makes object appear to glow.  Maybe if you post the file, we can provide better feedback to help you.

I understand that self illuminating material isn't a light source.

I have attached an example project with renders in the view.

I have removed the light source in the lighting fixture family to display the problem more clearly. The light on the left with glass in front of it does not glow. The light on the right does.

Why doesn't the self illuminating material appear through the glass when rendered?

Hey Daniel. Okay, so I took a look at your file and I understand what you are talking about now. Revit isn't rendering the Self-Illumination Material behind the Glass Material.  Frankly, I hadn't noticed this before, but it does make sense to me.

these are working fine for me.

I don't understand, maybe you have to chose a different scheme to render

(Interior: artificial only)

take a look at both renderings, they show perfectly

.... I just tried with different schemes for lightining ... and that's it

... needs to be for this specific render interior artificial only, not exterior....
