Section through 3D-dwg Model-In-Place only works for certain angles

I’ve placed all my 3D dwg’s in separate Model-In-Place. It works just fine most of the time, but for one dwg it only works sometimes. 1 section that cuts the short side of the building works just fine. If I rotate the same section 90 degrees, it looks like it would if the 3D-dwg was linked directly to the model and not placed in a Model-In-Place. 

In the picture you can see when I took 2 sections through the short side of the building and 1 section through the long side of the building.

Any idea why this happens and how to fix it?

...is this about Far Clip Distance?

Which category is the in place model? Try Mass.

This seems like a riddle!!!

If the section is cutting through the short side of the building, then the in-place family is a cuttable category and it should be cuttable along the long side of the building...However looking at the image, the longitudinal section seems to be cutting the highlighted area (Ramp Basement...)...maybe it is cut but not where you want it to? 

Try to delete the current section and place a new one from the Ribbon >> View >> Section and make sure the extents of the section are covering the portion of the building that need to be sectioned (A shaded view might also be more convenient)

@hampus.hugoson  you could also open a 3d view, turn on Section box and stretch it to where you want the cut, then look at it from Top and it can give you a general location where you want to place the section line

I need the section to get just a cut to see the profile in that section. So the far clip offset is low, 100 mm. 

The dwg was placed in the Model-In-Place as Generic Model. I’m aware of the categories cuttable/not cuttable. I’ve tried several different categories. All with the same result. And it does not explain why it works for one section but not the other (what really is what makes this so wierd).

That was wierd. I tried to share the dwg, but it was too large. So I just cut some parts of it to make it smaller. Then I tried to see if it still had the same issue. But now it works just fine in Revit. 

So my guess is that it is the dwg that is woring in some way. Now I just need to find out what….
