Screen view moves automatically when I change something?

Hi,

An annoying change happened to Revit in the last update.

Now whenever I make any change to a view on a screen, Revit automatically shifts my view.

This is downright annoying as most often I have my eye on a 3D object in the view and need to see how the change impacts it and when the view shifts I lose sight of it.

Is there some new on/off option for this stupid feature?

Thanks in advance.

Now, what makes you think that is by design? This is the first I've heard of it. If it were a "feature", we would be hearing a lot more about it than this single thread.

What have you done to try to fix this?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi @Anonymous

It's been a while and I'm checking back on this issue. If you continue to face these issues, please let me know.

  • Which version of Revit are you using?
  • Do you have a multiple monitor setup?

Looking forward to your reply update.

Hi Viveka,

I sent you some logs with this same issue many months ago and never got an answer.

Our screens are still jumping around like Kangooroos.

Using Revit 2018.2 and three screens.

@RobDrawThis is not a new problem

http://bim4scottc.blogspot.ca/2012/06/jumping-revit-view-aka-revit-jitterbug.html

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-mep-forum/jumping-3d-views/m-p/2300243/highlight/true#M4857

I don't think anyone ever found a solution and Autodesk has not released anything acknowledging the problem or offering a fix. This is not something a user can "fix" as far as I know, it's a core Revit graphic bug.

Have you seen this post below from the very link?  Sadly I have never had the problem so I don't know how to help you.

Okay, three. I'm really not sure how that relates to this thread as the OP only started experiencing it after the latest update as of the date of his post.

Hi @Anonymous

Let me check back on this with the dedicated resource.

Please share the other thread's link here as well. It makes easier to combine and move things up.This way I can prioritize.

Yes. this issue is common with multiple monitor setup and changes to display configurations.

I will share updates as soon as I hear from development.

I will get back if we need additional files from your end.

Regards,
