Scheduling Type Parameter

I have a question regarding scheduling type parameters in Revit.
For example, sometimes you are able to schedule width/height (type parameters) of beams and other times, the width/height parameters are not scheduleable (does not appear in schedule parameter list)?

Why does this happen?

Some family categories (like casework, doors...etc) has OOTB/Built in parameters which can be automatically schedule

Some other categories (like Generic Models for instance) do not have this feature. To schedule the peremiters of such families you need to use shared parameter

Structural Framing or Beams has Length Parameter as an OOTB parameter, while b and h are usually family parameters. In the family you are using M_Concrete-Rectangular Beam.rfa the base and height dimensions used are shared parameters...therefore you are able to schedule them. To check ... Edit Family >> Edit Family Types >> edit b or h parameter and see its Parameter Type

If you want to learn more about shared parameters:

Curious. I don't even have the "b" and "h" Parameter Field available in Schedules.

However, if I were to replace the in-built "b" and "h" parameter with a "b" and "h" parameter from my Shared Parameter Text File, then those "b" and "h" parameter are available in Scheduling.

Maybe that's what is going on.

b and h shown in your example must be Shared parameters.

If you want to use the same shared parameters for other families, you need to add b and h shared parameters to those families.  If you don't have access to the source shared parameter text file where b and h come from, export them to a shared parameters file, then add them to other families.
