rvt file link & Thumbnail view

Hi All,

Can someone explain how do I send revit file link in email ? so from another office the file can be opened.

 Also I would like to know How do Revit know which view to display in thumbnail preview ?

@Anonymous, it depends how big is your file, usually we use dropbox and share the link with them (another office). And usually for thumbnail view is just Revit logo. Anyways what do you mean by "which view to display in thumbnail preview" can you please explain for better understanding. thanks

I think gmail can send bigger file, but not sure the limits. You can use gmail by drive share link. thanks

I am not with the computer right now so I maybe off. I think the first save create the thumbnail for the file and it stays that way unless you choose to recreate it when you save again. There is an option in the save dialog for it.

I was more looking for sending link in our office but at other location so he can simply click on link to open the file. all servers are connected to each other is there a way to create any hyperlink?

You can right click on any file and choose Create Shortcut from the context menu.  For example, you do it for Project.rvt and it will create a shortcut file in the same location Project.rvt.lnk.  Sent this .lnk file to your peers and they can click on it to open the target file, assuming thet have the same access to your server.

Just want to add my two cents. @ToanDN is absolutely right, resave your project and choose any view as a thumbnail in save options.
