RPC Content

Alright So this is really frustrating me, and I'm hoping that there is a solution.  For years, I've rendered my projects in software like Photoshop and before getting into Revit, Sketchup with a Vray plugin.  But I'm in, I get it, Revit offers me a lot more and I don't have to build multiple models of my project just to render a quality image to show my clients.

Then I feel slapped in the face by RPC content issues.  So I literally have hundreds of my own high quality images that I've either made over the years, or bought for my rendering files.  I frankly don't need more, I just need to get them into Revit.  But everything I come across keeps telling me I need to buy this $500 additional plug-in called Archvision in order to make an RPC Content family.

All I have to say is WHAT THE HELL?  I mean is there no real way to load an image into a tree family and then have it play nicely with my project, other than to go buy yet again another piece of software?

I've tried over two dozen different google searches on this, and I keep getting sent back to this.  There apparently was a freeware version at some point in time, but that doesn't appear to be available any longer.

All you need to do is install the Archvision Dashboard. No Charge.

Alright, so I see that I can load the Content into this ArchVision Content Viewer, is there no way to get it to build the ones where the RPC has different views depending on front, side, and plan views?  Or is that what they mean by making 3d content (thus hte $500 price tag)?

Additionally, when I drag and drop the 2d content into Revit it so kindly slaps the ARCHVISION LOGO all over the image, thus making the entire exercise useless if you ask me.

Am I basically being told by AutoDesk, if you want this go buy yet another piece of software?

Just Out of curiousity, is there anyway to make RPC Content with any of the Adobe Creative Suites?  I have a full subscription license to that already.

Hi All,

I've done a very extensive search. I can't see a way of freely using Revit to produce my own RPC entourage.

I want to be able to freely add images and customise the way they appear.

I don't want to use Envision or Archivision or any other third party softwares.

Please help.

Are you referring to the link to enscape? If so, I don't want to use a third party. I want to learn how to use/workaround the issue so I that can freely customise my rpc files for Revit using Revit only.

Can anybody in the world of Revit assist?

Did you actually read the information in the Link?  It doesn't sound like you did.  Re-read it.  Carefully.

I read that link a few a few times. I just read it again.

I don't want to use Archvision, Enscape or any third party software.

Am I missing something?
