Rooms in Groups - Supported or Not?

I've noticed that you can put rooms in groups and generally it does not break. Surprisingly enough, I was able to have the same grouped apartment groups with different apartment units for the same group.

There is one of our many groups that when I try to add a room in it, it tells me that it will remove the rooms from all the instances of this one particular group.

"Group members had to be "moved to the project" (removed from their group instance) because they were not consistent with the group type definition."

I was wondering if anybody was able to work with rooms in groups and if it is officially supported or not?

The same problematic groups seems to have a corruption problem with room-bounding walls. All the rooms are room-bounding despite being set to not be room bounding. If I select the wall and click room-bounding on and then off, it temporarily removes the room bounding.

Não é uma boa prática de projeto agrupar famílias do sistema. Isso pode gerar conflitos indesejáveis. Use esse comando para agrupar famílias carregáveis.

Mas acredito que duplicar o grupo e renomear pode resolver o problema facilmente. Quando houver necessidade de diferentes nomes de ambientes a solução será a duplicação do grupo (1) ou um ambiente desvinculado do grupo (2).

E para  ambientes vinculados ao grupo a edição é feita na propriedade.

i don't put rooms in groups before but when i read your post , i tried it
names are the same but numbers is different ,this is very good
but i found that department property for instance are the same which is not correct in the real life

maybe also rooms finish could be the same for the same rooms or different for some matter
can't change room name from the tag because this destroy the group

i don't like it

You can change numbers outisde the group. To cahnge the name or the department, simply go into the group.

autodesk support is looking into this bug. They say that putting rooms in groups is officially supported.
