Room tag won't show shared parameter

Hi, I can't find the solution to this shared parameter not being in my tag.

I tried looking here but it looks like it wasn't resolved: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/room-tag-with-shared-parameter-not-showing-u...

I want the "Unit Type" parameter to show up on my room tag.

I created a shared parameter, and loaded it into the label in the tag family, but it's not showing.

Did you enter the same shared parameter into the Room Properties in the Project via creating a Project Parameter and assigning it to Rooms? Betcha you didn't.

The contents of the Shared Parameter Text file mean nothing. The Shared Parameter needs to be pulled from the Shared Parameter Text File into the Project in order for a Tag to read its value.

...Google for Steve Stafford's Revit OpEd Blog and search for his articles on Shared Parameters.  It'll be the best educational experience you've had in a long time.  He was a monumental help for me when I was green.

Add the same shared parameter to the project parameters and assign it to Rooms category

Did you put a value in the "Unit Type" Parameter Field of the Rooms?  Is the "Unit Type" in the Tag the EXACT SAME SHARED PARAMETER as the "Unit Type" Project Parameter.

...by "EXACT SAME", I mean pulled from the EXACT SAME Shared Parameter Text File.

I deleted the project parameter, and re-added it. Now it works!

I think I had created the shared parameter, added it to the project, then wanted to edit the shared parameter so I had to delete it, and re-create it. So I think that broke the existing project parameter, and made it a dumb project parameter without the shared link....I think this is what happened.

Makes sense. If you deleted and recreated, then the values that were assigned to the original Unit Type under Room Properties were blown out as well.

Keep in mind that Shared Parameters are shared by virtue of their GUID - not their Name.
