Room Phase Greyed Out

I created a Revit model and added rooms. Everything was created in New Construction Phase so we went to change all to Existing. Everything changed but the rooms. Phasing for rooms is greyed out. Change View Template to "None" but did not make a difference. How can I get the Phasing to not be grey so I can change the room phasing?

'When you place a room in a view, the room is added to the phase specified for the view, and it is defined by boundaries that exist in that phase.

All rooms are phase-specific in a project. When you add a room to a plan view or create a room by adding a row to a room schedule, the room is automatically assigned to the phase specified for the view.'

I think you can cut/copy the room and paste it to the same place and it will take the phase set by the bounding walls

Copy/Paste Rooms from New Construction Phase to Existing Phase and changing the Room Name for each phase. But when I change the view from New Construction to Existing, everything turns off except the room and tag. Do I need to redraw?

New elements do not show under Existing Phase.  Change existing elements' Phase Created to existing if they are existing elements.

If the view's Phase Filter is Show Existing then the view's Phase Status should be New in order to show existing elements.  If you changed the view's Phase status to Existing and Phase filter = Show Existing then you are looking to see elements created BEFORE the existing phase, which don't exist.  And the way you name the Phase filter makes it confusing.  Show Existing should be named Show Previous instead.

Make it a practice to differentiate the Phase names and the Phase filter names.  Don't mix them up because they confuse the users.  Use Existing, Phase 1, Phase 2, etc... for Phases; and use Show Previous, Show Previous + Demolition, Show Previous + New, etc.. for phase filters.

Thanks so much. I basically went back to OTB for Revit Phase Filters and used Show Previous + New with the Existing Phase and got it to work.
