Room Finish Schedule - Best Practice?

Hi there,
I work in a tiny firm, just me and another drafter (my technological jr).

We do both Arch and Structural, mostly for pre-eng buildings.

Pretty much it's just me trying to learn Revit on my own as we go and build a library, best practices and organization along the way.

My office has a bit of a legacy of doing things and and showing things in a certain manner.

A bit tailored to our specific sector of contractors,

but also due to a bit of "artistic flair".

I'm trying very hard to strike a happy balance between keep things simple on the software end and using it "as revit intended"

and to compromise with creating a something my Architect and Engineers are used to seeing on paper.

The image below is the typical room finish schedule they've been using for years.

I managed to get a similar door schedule out, but it seems Rooms in Revit are a system family and much more locked out?

How would you suggest I approach this?

What's the easiest and most powerful way of conveying this information?

So you shouldn't have much of a problem creating most of that. Custom project parameters will be needed for any gaps in parameters that come standard with rooms. Where you will get tripped up is the ceiling height. Because it is a room schedule, it can't pull the ceiling parameter 'Height Offset From Level'. 

Although, if your open to Dynamo, you could probably easily pull and push the data you need without manually coordinating it. 

alternatively, which is what is showing in my schedule, is when you create the room, you match the 'Upper Limit' parameter to your ceiling height.

p.s. in case your not aware, ROOM, WALL & CEILING headings are created with the schedule 'Group' tool in Revit. It becomes active when you select multiple header cells, it appears in the 'Titles and Headers' contextual ribbon panel.

Create a shared parameter. Associate it with the component. Add it to the tag family and the schedule. The material will be picked up.

Hello

Create a Room tag where you can input Finishes..

and use Room Schedule to get all the finishes..

you might need a custom parameter if you want to put some 

extra details..
