Can Revit produce the name of a room and the two interior dimensions of that room.

I know it can produce the sq. ft. of the individual rooms but can it do this           BEDROOM

                                                                                                                                          13'-6" X 13'-2"

Ok, thats interesting !

But before I get into it, I wonder how it handles rooms that are not square or rectangular.  Say, that has a 2' deep closet along more or less than half the length of a wall?

Are there any hidden tricks to come up with you have done here?

Thanks!

I saw the image and was wondering how you did that. that's a nice formula in the room tag. 🙂

For irregular spaces AutoCAD Architecture reports the LxW size of the smallest bounding box which would enclose the space. Be cool if Revit could match this as all the formula based tags I have found fail when the room is not regular

You can download tag in reply #2 to see... ? it's just LxW in label? edit: see calculated values

How the 'dumb' BIM product handles space dimensions (attached as forum error was blocking image upload when I tried). Useful for our flooring contractors as they can get max l/w from the room tags even if the space is not explicitly  dimensioned (as added to this plan to show where dims come from). Have not yet been able to match this in Revit as the perimeter/ formulas fall apart with irregular rooms

Ofcourse, np. It's calculated values in a label, see attached.

Well its telling you one error right there. Parameter names are case-sensitive. You typed in "perimeter". The P is capitalized in the actual parameter. "Perimeter". Not saying this is the only issue, but its certainly one.
