Facia tool is profile based. The dimensions are driven by the parameters given in the profile used. Go to type properties and check which profile you are using, then in the project browser>>families>>profiles,

  • either duplicate to create a new type of that profile and change its dimensions
  • Or model a new profile with the necessary parameters, load into the model and use that instead

Sorry. I am not sure how I missed it. I was expecting something more like beams with b and h and didnot notice it is the same as sweeps and slab edge.

Ad the soffit sltp can you please help on this? It seem to create like a floor or roof so I am not sure if I am using it right

Apologies I missed that part.

In principle it does create a roof but without the defined slope option. You need to pick roof edges as well as the wall edges.

Ie: its  the same steps one would use to create a ceiling or a floor with an opening using the sketch lines rather than the opening tool or a hosted void family.

Alternatives

  • You could also use a ceiling element or a floor element (similar to roofs but at times may be more convenient and better for hosting purposes).
  • Sloped glazing
  • pattern based ccomponents on a divided surface
  • Beam system

Simply go to Architecture tab >> Work Plane pan and set it to a Level datum. Once you set that and start the roof soffit tool, you see the usual options like before including draw tools, set Work Plane and the options to toggle between boundary lines and slope arrow

Otherwise place the soffit on a plan view instead (assuming that you haven't changed the work plane in that view too)
