Ceiling crown molding

Hi community,

Is there a tool or best method to create ceiling crown moldings? I have looked on the forum but did not find anything much other than one idea from 2017 Skirting and crowd moldings tool - Autodesk Community

That was not a popular idea be a useless there are already several tools that does ceiling moldings. Example:

1. You can use wall sweeps
2. You can use a hosted profile in the wall itself
3. You can use slab edges

There are more ways to do that but the above are the most basic ones. All are profile based too, so they are not that complicated to figure out and model

Hi thank you for the quick reply. May I ask what you mean by profile based? I need it to be 3D element but profiles are 2D no?

I meant to say that the tools will a profile which you model and load into the project...it does/will generate a 3D component.

Merci bcp. I got your point. I just tried the wall sweep it works but I need to look into how I can change the shapes of the profiles.

Easy ... simply start a new profile family, use lines to define the shape of the profile and set the relevant PROFILE USAGE

If you are going with the wall hosted solution, you would need to use the hosted profile template
