You can draw roof trusses using AutoCAD + Revit LT Suite, but Revit LT cannot create true parametric trusses like full Revit. Here’s how it works in practice 👇
1. Roof Trusses in Revit LT
Revit LT does NOT have the Truss Tool (that’s only in full Revit).
But you can still model trusses manually.
How to do it in Revit LT:
Option A: Model with Structural Framing
- Go to Structure → Beam
- Draw:
- Top chord
- Bottom chord
- Web members (diagonals/verticals)
- Use Reference Planes to keep geometry accurate
- Group the members to reuse the truss
✔ Good for: 3D visualization, coordination, basic layouts
✖ Not parametric, slower for large projects
