Revit 2022 Missing US-Imperial Family Templates

Hi,

After a lot of downloading and installing, we still seem to be missing Family Templates for English-Imperial in Revit 2022.

Yes, I tried downloading the Content Pack for 2022 from here:

Autodesk Revit 2022 Content | Revit Products 2022 | Autodesk Knowledge Network

and installed the pack file (named RVTCPENU.exe) but that file does NOT include Family Templates, only the Libraries.

It looks to me like the family templates have been left out. They are included for all the other "International English" packs on the download page, but we need English-Imperial templates which should be part of the ENU locale.

Is there another pack that needs to be installed?

Does ANYONE have the folder C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\RVT 2022\Family Templates\English-Imperial on their computer?

The Autodesk Revit installation includes core content which includes project templates and family templates. This content is required so that users can successfully launch the software and work with projects and families.

FWIW: You can always upgrade prior Version Content.

This is what comes with the English-Imperial.

We managed to locate the family templates.

It looks like they somehow where excluded from the installation deployment, and like @barthbradley pointed out, they cannot be installed afterwards by any other mean than the full installation.

Thanks for confirming that a workaround is to install the Revit 2021 family templates and just upgrade the file as you need them. Trying a fresh re-install of Revit LT 2022 just to see if it will load the family templates seems like a risky suggestion.

It's not a workaround and you don't uninstall/reinstall Revit. You just install the content pack.

I might be missing something. I installed the content pack from your link "US English Content for Revit 2022". It seemed to only install Libraries but did not install Family templates. Looking through the link, I do not see one that includes US Imperial English Family templates. More often than not, it's user error on my part, so let me know if I'm missing something.

Okay, I see now. You're missing core content. So, the uninstall/reinstall thinking is justified.  Make sure it's a clean uninstall.

Ok. We may be on the same page. The hesitancy I have is I just did a clean install removing all autodesk products from my computer that took a few hours to troubleshoot today with the help of Autodesk chat. The core install still had the result of no families and templates. The workaround (which may not be best practices, but less risky) was to install the 2021 family templates. Right now everything "works" which is more than I can say a few hours ago.

Thanks for the clarifications.

Just as a side note, I ended up having to use this https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-r... to finally scrub all remnants of the program.

Am I missing something on these download content installs? I suspect our local team took it out of the deployment - but now I need to create a Clean OOTB content library for a client I cannot find the original family templates to download to provide as a start-from-scratch option for new content.

Unless I have gremlins in the system(Possible ; ) a fresh install from the downloads page didn't have "Family templates for Revit 2022" !  We cannot individually download these manually for each new version of Revit.

Downloading this did NOT include the imperial North American libraries for family templates.

Install that package should give you US Imperial and Metric content, including family templates.  You can double check the default path:

@ToanDN  thanks - that was the first place I looked.  Deployment may be broken as that keeps resetting to /Templates which leads to nowhere... and when I downloaded the content libs from Autodesk - and had it 'install' then - got Nada.

Is there a link for that specific download? I am missing families for my project.

I just found that I was also missing the Family Templates folder for my Revit 2022 on my main laptop, but I found it was present on an installation I have on a different machine.
I have uploaded the original, unmodified folder to Autodesk drive

No need to download potentially dangerous content from somewhere else...

Potentially dangerous content?? Excuse me but you are not helping anyone here. Your are still missing the point, which is about family templates. You not only insulted me, but offered a useless link to content packs, not family templates.
I went out of my way to zip and upload the Family Templates folder for Revit 2022 to my personal gdrive and make it publicly available, just so I could help others.

Actually, genuinely worried about security? Here's the zip file's hash:

You can check that the hash matches once you download the zip.
And here's the report from VirusTotal:  https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/f7e4f3ce83d8cfc24c1b55bb76f42d88acbeeeccf17f7f1bbd47509ba54d2402...

Slow down there @esk0r  - I said potentially.

No need to download potentially dangerous content from somewhere else...

Accounts get hacked all the time.

:feuer:CyberSecuirty 101: don’t download from a 3rd party site./:feuer: Respectfully, you aren't Autodesk.

This thread is from 2022- so you are answering a thread two years out of date. Appreciate the offer but this is a common tactic hackers use for everything from dropping ads to  malicious sites, links, and ZIPS~ All of which can be uploaded and #hashed just like any other program or file.

And out of curiosity-

  1. Is the content you are offering 100% Out Of The box- OOTB
  2. Has it been modified in any way?
  3. Is it up to date with the latest amendments pushed by AutoDesk?
  4. Is the content you provided Revit LT or Full Revit?

No one could tell until the downloaded and unzipped and by the it would be too late.

The official content libraries should have all the project, family content, templates and more in there; If it doesn't Autodesk needs to be aware to get it updated... at least until they sunset 2022 here sometime in about April.

And if we're doing the MEME thing...

Sir, this isn't linkedin or about yourself (or me). Someone asked for help with family templates, and replies (including yours) were pointing at content (not the same thing at all). Having had the issue myself, I decided to share the original folder (which was too big to share as a regular attachment here) to help others, without going off topic, so as to keep the thread to the point and helpful. And that is why I won't indulge you with further replies here. If you have genuine questions about my opsec etc, feel free to DM. I will reply there.
