Rhino import in Revit 2022

I just saw that Revit 2022 can now import Rhino .3dm files directly.

I don’t have a Revit license and have already used up a free trial in the past. Has anyone tried this?

Can you now cut sections, dimension and material tag Rhino geometry in the Revit model? I know in the past, importing .SAT files didn’t allow this - you could see and select the Rhino geometry, but you couldn’t document it easily. Or, is the only way to do this is via Rhino Inside Revit plugin?

Thank you

Is this about Scheduling? What about importing the Rhino into a Revit Family (using whatever method), and then loading this "Rhino" Family into the Project?

I design interior millwork in Rhino that goes into a bigger building model that is owned by the architect. When the architect imports Rhino geometry, they can see it and move it around, but they can't section it, dimension it, add material tags, so they end up rebuilding the geometry in Revit, which makes it easier for them to document, but pretty much duplicates the modelling effort.

I'm wondering if the new Rhino import in Revit 2022 solves this, or if the Rhino Inside Revit plugin from the Rhino team is better.

Other than Revit 2022 now allowing you to Link Rhino, there doesn't appear to any other differences in its behavior.  No new super-powers in Revit.  😉

Hi,

you should be able to install and run Revit 2022 trial for one month. Each new version gives you the possibility of trial.
