Revit

I am new to Revit. I have downloaded the program to my personal computer, (laptop), and In the wall types the only wall shown is a Basic Wall. No other types are given. My school computer has the various wall types.

I'm trying to get familiar with the program away from school as well but can't follow tutorials because of this problem. I am well versed in AutCaod and need to become the same with Revit and Inventor.

Hi

When you start a new project right after installing the software you only
have a few predefined types of everything. In your school the project
template is more developed, customized, so you have more types of walls,
floors, etc.

By selecting a tool to do a wall (for ex.) you can edit the type, duplicate
it and then create new types for fulfill your needs.

Navigating the forum and the Knowledge Network you'll find thousands of
articles walking through the whole process.

Hope it helps... Regards

Thanks for the information. Seems odd the program does not download the same information. To teach the concepts you need all the tools to learn the program.

I'll check thru the forums and try some experiments myself.

If you start with the Architectural template there should be lots of wall types OOTB.

I am guessing that you started the project without a template and were not given the options for different templates.  Which means your library was not downloaded.  Check out this page: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles...
