Revit still sees a downloaded cloud model as a cloud model even after downloading the file

I once saved a Revit file to the cloud and later downloaded it because I needed to convert it to a Revit template. Now, Revit still sees the file as a cloud model because I cannot save it as a cloud model anymore and the save as template option is still greyed out even though the file is now locally saved on my PC.

On another note, when I open the file, all the browsers will disappear - project, properties, and systems browsers... I always have to manually restore them all.

Please, how do I fix this?

Version: Revit 2023.

You need to disable worksharing (open the file detached and choose discard workset) in order to save as a project template.

Can you open Worksets dialog and show it here?

Hi, @ToanDN; I just noticed that the file has become workshare-enabled, perhaps after making it cloud-hosted. The tricky part is that the option to detach from central is greyed out when I try to access the file from the open menu in Revit.

Is it the file you downloaded to the local drive?  Share it here.

It doesn't work here either.  How did you download this file?  You should have opened it from the cloud to create a local file, close the local, then re-open the local and detach from central will be available.

Hi, @ToanDN.

Honestly, I almost lost access to the cloud model at some point, as Revit was giving me some error messages. I  suppose the file did not properly publish when I shut down my PC then. So, I had to trace the latest local cache file. I  guess there are some internal corruptions in the file. I'm surprised to see the worksets becuase I never enabled worksharing in the file.

Like you said. You maybe you did enable worksharing when you made it a cloud model. Do you remember how you made it a cloud model? Do you still have access to the cloud model to check to see if worksets are enabled?

I made  it a cloud model by saving it to the cloud from Revit  - without enabling worksharing. Does that automatically create worksets?

I will check the cloud model to see if it has worksets. Although I have made several changes to the local file...

Sorry but that's hard to answer because your wording isn't very precise. I know it is possible to have a non-workshared model on the cloud but it's been a while since I worked with them and workflows may have changed since.

You haven't stated where this project actually resides. Is it one of Autodesk's cloud platforms?

Did you "save as a cloud model" or "save as" to a cloud drive or "collaborate in the cloud"?

I used the 'Save as' command in Revit which saves it to Autodesk Construction Cloud - Docs module.
