We are working in Revit 2012. We are taking models of our chillers (from Inventor), and creating simple blocks of it and adding piping connectors to show our hydronic supplys and returns. When we try to select the cylinder we modeled as our header pipe or connection pipe, we can not get the connector tool to select that outside ring of the pipe. Can anyone give me some insight on how to get the pipe connector to properly select the cylinder I have modeled. What am I missing here?
I have attached a picture of what happens when I scroll over the outside ring of the header pipe.
Thanks,
Kyle

You can either try pressing the tab button on your keyboard to try and pick up the face of the header pipe, or you can set your workplane to the face of the header pipe. That should do the trick

As stated above, it seems like its a TAB select issue. simply hover over the component, and use the TAB key to cycle through all your available selections. Once you see the correct object highlighted you can select it.
Just so you know, issues like this (For MEP) should really be posted in the Revit MEP forum. More for the fact that MEP guys propabally check that forum more than the Architecture forum, so better chance of getting expert advice 🙂
