Revit LT

I'm interested in the Revit LT package as it appears to have the capability of saving/exporting Revit files to .IFC format according to https://www.autodesk.co.uk/compare/compare-features/revit-vs-revit-lt?mktvar002=afc_gb_nmpi_ppc&AID=...

However I have downloaded the trial of Revit LT and when i go to File>Export>IFC this option is "greyed" out and wont let me select it. Can you confirm that Revit LT is capable of exporting revit files to IFC format?

Thanks

According to this, it does not.

So my company decided to purchase the full Revit package, however when i click File>Export>IFC the option is "greyed" out and wont let me click it, just like when i was using the LT version. Has anyone come across this before?

Please verify that you are following the proper procedure. Saying the same thing does not help progress the trouble shooting.

That sound right,

My export to ifc is not greyed out. (Revit LT 2017)

I know if you were in a schedule the export ifc option would be greyed out.

so you need to be in  either a 3D view or Plan

Hi Alan, Thanks for your support! appreciate it. I have tried what you have suggested and unfortunately it hasn't worked, however I've made a quick drawing within Revit to test that and it has worked for that! so I think it must be something related to the file. I've attached the file.

Load the .rfa into a project then export to ifc

Have you tried inserting the family into an actual project?
