Not possible to add new parameters to label

Hi guys and girls,

I'm trying to make a new section head family for our Revit 2019 template.

In this family I tried to add a label containing information from a shared parameter. The problem that occurs is that I'm not being allowed to create new/edit or remove parameters from the label (these options are greyed out).

What I did so far is;

- I added the new parameter to the shared parameter file and I loaded the parameter file into the family.

- both the upgraded family (from 2017) and a newly made family (file -> new -> annotation symbol) gives me the same result.

I hope my problem is clear, as English is not my native language. I added the printscreen of where it goes wrong.

best wishes and hope to hear from you.

Daniël

Section heads are fussy that way. They don't allow you to add other parameters.

Fortunately there is a workaround for that.

Follow these steps:

1. Make a new family using the Section Head template

2. Inside the family, go to Family Category and Parameters and change the Category to Wall Tags.

3. Add your label with your Shared Parameter.

4. Ctrl+C the added label

5. Switch back to the Section Mark Category

6. Delete the existing label.

7. Ctrl+V the before copied label with the Shared Parameter.

8. Save the family

Thanks for the reply,

Sadly this doesn't help. In the video the label parameters aren't changed.

Thank you for the work around idea! It seems to work in the family for me but once loaded in the project file it`s still only recognizes the original Sheet Number parameter whereas the level and role parameter I have added are not showing.

Not paying thousands of dollars a year for a hack.

Wish people would stop marking these as solutions, makes Autodesk think they can go on to another marketing video when they still have work to do.
