Revit LT - In place wall tool issue

Hi Guys, I have another issue that you might be able to help me with. Please see attached image.

I used the "In-place wall" tool in order to model the raised reveals of the windows. Then I managed to change the colour from grey to a more realistic yellow colour. Now I can't seem to be able to do the same thing for the other "grey" reveals. I have tried override graphics but they still remain grey.

Also, is there an easy way of forming the curved cills using Wall:Sweep, as this wall is curved in plan? Thanks.

Edit the wall in place and use Paint tool.

You can place a wall sweep on a curved wall.  See attached.

These are Reveals?  Paint Tool should work.

Hi,

The paint tool just doesn't work. Its really annoying how some of the reveals are yellow and the rest are grey.

Is there anyway I can get these to change colour?

Also, modelling the arches themselves on a curved plan results in the working plane going out of alignment.

Also, when I try and do the cills, it runs around the complete elevation instead of just been under each window.

I can't control where it stops. Any help with these issues three would be really appreciated.

You can resize the sweeps/reveals by dragging the blue dots at the ends.

...regarding painting not working; are you sure you are selecting the right material to paint with?  Also, I notice that the screenshot you posted is a Realistic View.  Realistic Views use the Material's Appearance tab settings - not the Material's Graphic tab settings.

I found "lines drawn off-axis" warnings associated to your sweeps and several of them corrupted. I deleted bad ones and re-did one window trim and sill for you.  The trim via in-place component sweep. Type parameters exist to control it's width (wt) and thickness (tt), and material (mat).  Sill was done with Wall Sweep Tool using default profile you defined in project. Check them both out and see if you can see if you can do the remaining Windows.

TIP: before you draw the Profile for the sweep, right-click on the View Cube and select Orient to Plan and then pick "Reference Plane:Profile Plan" for your view orientation. It will make it so much easier to draw your profile.  Also, start your profile by drawing x and y sketch lines, and align and lock them to the two Profile Reference Planes.

One other suggestion:  you still have 2 warnings related to a couple of other sweeps in your project that I would NOT ignore.  Delete them through Manage=>Warnings (Expand dialog box), and then redo them.  The other warnings you have may be ignored, but it's best to monitor and resolve Warnings as you progress.  Otherwise you could build warnings on top of other warning and make it impossible to delete or repair them later on.

Sorry I didn't get to reply to your comprehensive answers during the week, mad busy here.

Again, thanks very much for all your help. I have managed to get all trims around the windows to work out.

I have a few more issues that I am hoping you can help me with.

Glass colour. I can get the circular window on the attached file to show blue glass but not on the arch headed windows. Why is this?

Entrance door. I have tried editing this door several times but it keeps showing up wrong.

It is supposed to be a timber panelled door. Thank again.

I didn't open your Project, but from you are saying, it sounds like this is the information you looking for: 

1. Families use the Project's Materials - not the Family's Materials.  So, verify that the Project Material's Graphic and Appearance settings are correct.

2. Go into each Window Family, select the Opening Cut and look on the Option Bar. Check both boxes: Transparent in 3D and Transparent in Elevation.

RE: Arch Windows - You don't have the glass modeled.  You need to create the geometry and apply the glass material to it.

RE: Door Appearance - The lines representing the paneling are coming from a Drafting Surface Pattern.  If you want it to scale properly, you need to use a Model Surface Pattern.  In other words, if you change the view scale in the Project to match the Family's View Scale, you will see the linework representing the paneling. BTW, that linework won't be seen in a Realistic View.  Realistic View uses the Material's Appearance tab properties.

Hi, I created the geometry and now I have blue glass, cheers.

I don't know how to go about changing the door appearance so that it looks
like a panelled door in "shaded" view.

Is there a sequence you could give me that I could follow for that?

In Shaded View; not Realistic View?  I told you; you need to change the Surface Pattern from a Drafting to a Model Fill Pattern. Should be easy enough to create if you don't have one. It's just Parallel Lines; right? So, if each panel is 6 inches wide, then type in 6 inches for the Line Spacing.
