Revit hangs on selecting 2d elements

Hey all, I've been fighting with cursor lag in Revit LT both in 2023 and 2024. What seems to happen is that when you select an item (click on it), first it must highlight the item, then update the properties display to show that item's properties, then you can edit the item by dragging it's handles or changing properties or whatnot. Most of the time it'd be impossible to notice this order of things because when you select something it should just select instantly, and for seemingly all 3d objects it does.
For 2d objects, particularly detail lines and model lines, there's a significant delay. For example, if you were to select a detail line by click-and-dragging a selection box over it and letting go of LMB, the image of the selection box over the line would hang on screen for ~two seconds, then the line would visible highlight with those little dimension callouts visible, but the properties menu will still list the properties of the view. After another ~2 seconds, the properties will change to show the line's properties. Only after the properties updates can I make any changes to the line. Even de-selecting the line using the Esc key will wait until the full ~4 seconds has passed to take effect.
The fact that this happens over every file, in 2 different years of revit, implies hardware issue to me.
My system:
- Windows 10 home 64 bit
- i7 4790 @ 3.60 GHz
- 32GB DDR3 @798MHz
- 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 720
- 1TB SSD Samsung 860 EVO
3d Objects (Walls, doors, windows, etc): Instant
2d Components: 1/2 second to highlight, 1/2 second to update properties display
Detail Lines or Model Lines: 2 seconds to highlight, 2 seconds to update properties display
Has anyone seen this, or have any advice on what to check or modify?
