I'm trying to place handrails on a floor I created with different levels. Does Revit handrail have to be created on stairs only or a flat floor?

I use the "NEW HOST" command put it wont allow me to select the floors at different levels see pic and Revit file, version 2023.

Thanks

Pick a rail line segment in edit mode and play with its Slope and Height Correction properties on the Option Bar.

....if I understand you correctly, you want to do something like this:

No?

Like this?  If so, yes you can host the railing on a floor and tweak the railing path segments.  But it is might be easier to model the steps as a stair if you want proper post base attachment, extensions etc.

ToanDN that what I'm closely looking at, I was looking at a quick way to drop it in. How was your railing created?

Thanks

- create another floor for the ground (you can hide it later if you want)

- create a railing by sketch and pick that ground floor as host

- draw the sketch with 3 segments: 1 on the top floor, 1 for the slope, and 1 on the ground

- select the top segment and set Height Correction to Custom = 18"

- select the middle segment and set Slope from By Host to Sloped

- finish the railing

But I reckon that you should model the steps as a stair.  That would save you from doing nearly all of the steps above.

If that's what you're after, Stair by Sketch (shown in red) might be a lot easier.  Hide the Stairs in the Views just like you'd hide any reference element.
