Hello....
I'm an architecture student from Pune, India. I'm doing a research on - "Can BIM solve on-site construction issues ? "
Since I practice BIM on REVIT, I wanted the data of people in Pune who work on REVIT, for my research purpose.
I'll be highly obliged if you could please share me the details of the same which will guide me to propose a new dimension to BIM and REVIT and solve the on-site construction issues.
Thank you 😊
refer to these LINK, LINK and LINK. thanks
If you have the right tools; like an iPad or a laptop computer, on site, then you would simply be doing the construction companies BIM Manger job. One of the many dimensions to Revit and BIM software is to hand off the model to the construction compay.
On Site BIM Management is just part of the process. Revit is one of the programs that can be used to do this. Navisworks is another Autodesk software that exists to do this coordination work. But Revit can actually be edited.
While onsite, contractors who use the "Live" model to reference during construction tend to find mistakes early in the process. Then they use the model to determine if they need to force the party that made the mistake to redo their work or whether it is in the clients best interest to find an alternate solution. Having the Live model there is critical to find paths for ducts, pipes or wires etc.
The simple answer, in my opinion, is that Revit and related BIM software is presumed to be one of the primary tools in the construction process. The usefulness of Revit in this process doesn't even end when the building is complete. There is other BIM Facilities Management software that can use the Revit model to help maintain and mange the building.
Good Luck
Nardo
