Revit Error: a serious error has occured.....

Hi Forum,

I got the following error message while i was editing a material for a multilayer wall.

in the dialog i clicked "Yes" then Revit gave me the PopUpBox: "File not saved"

After that the save as Dialog opened, i saved a Backup File on a separate place.

During all this 2 users were working on the local files. both users exited the model without synchronizing.

We opened the  original file again as local copy and no error occured.

So for now it's ok i guess but i would like to know what the error means in order to resolve it to prevent that this happens again.

thanks a lot in advance

This error has been known to be caused by Dynamo (versions 0.9.1 and 0.92). You could check if you still have these Dynamo versions on your computer uninstall them and replace them with newer Dynamo versions. Also consider to look at/uninstall) other add-ins.

Further have a look at your journal files. See if they point to a cause for the error

Hi @L.Maas,

thanks a lot for the quick reply.

Yes i have that dynamo version still installed.

I will check the errors and report what i found and if i was able to solve the issue.

just a farther question:

the journal file is user specific so i will find it in the folder of the local files of the user where the problem occured. is this correct.

thx again
