Im trying to create a Revit energy model for a very basic project. my walls are made using in place wall masses and same with floors and roof, they are on the correct phase and are room bound but i keep getting the error...

"Can't create any energy analysis surfaces. There are no Room bounding elements defined in the current phase. Please check the Project Information settings."

any help appreciated

Take a look at the image below...Walls.jpg

  1. This is a WALL, created with the Wall tool
  2. Is an "In-Place" Wall
  3. "In-Place" Mass

Notice the difference? the Mass is created in almost the same way as the in-place wall, it's the category that can determine whether it is room bounding.

OR

You may have created an in-place wall and all you need is to check the "Room Bounding" option

I have created 4 in place walls (option 2) and 2 in place floors (Option 2 also, for floors instead of walls) to create essentially an insulated box. all elements have room bounding selected and have a room tag inside. yet Im still getting the error
