Revit compatibility issue 2022 to 2023

We are currently in Revit 2022, some consultants are now in 2023, Autodesk informed us we cannot upgrade to 2023 because we have a 3 year license, without purchasing completely new licenses.  How are we supposed to work when 2022 and 2023 are not even compatible or backwards compatible?

You're not going to be able to use Revit at all if your license is about to expire... Its all subscription based now.

Yes, we are on a 3 year subscription, we have 2 years left, we cannot upgrade to 2023 for another 2 years, that is the issue

The point of the subscription is you can upgrade every year?

Not what autodesk support just told me, I have to wait 2 more years to upgrade on my renewal, cannot do it mid-subscription

We have a 5 year subscription and still has 3 years to go and we have just installed Revit 2024, you just go to you autodesk account and it lets you download the current version and 3 previous vesions.

You can. Not sure why they would tell you that. Log into your account, go to products, and download Revit 23. And Revit 24 for that matter.

That doesn't make any sense.  If your license is good then you can download and install any versions available (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020).

If your license is currently active, you should be able to install the current version (R2024) and the past versions (but not to the point before you first subscribed). I think they make it easy to install the last 3 versions. If you are eligible for prior versions (if you were subscribed back then), there are workarounds to get the installation files.

Maybe that was a mis-understanding? Try to downloads the files from your Autodesk account and see how it goes.

Before conspiracy theories show up again, here why Revit cant down-grade.

In a collaborative project, any upgrade should be communicated BEFORE someone upgrades. The contract should state upgrade policy so that everyone has agreed and is prepared.
