Revit closes when editing model or dragging view onto sheet

Revit 2014 automatically closes when I click "Edit In Place" on any generic model. Sometimes it closes when I am dragging a view onto a sheet. I have tried linking the file to a blank project. It works for a while, then begins closing again. I have updated everything and had my computer cleaned of any viruses. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You mention "I have tried linking the file to a blank project." Not sure what you mean here. What file are you linking? Are the problems occuring with a single project or also with new projects? Which operating system?

Did the problems start recently? Did something happen in this period (e.g. updates, new software).

Do you have (many) add-ins running in Revit.

How is your hardware (e.g. enough memory, enough space on hard-disks, processor, graphics card),

Things to try.

-Update windows (e.g. .Net Libraries, DirectX)

-Update Revit.

-Update Graphics Card Drivers.

-Remove Revit Add-ins.

-Disable firewalls & virusscanners (make sure not on network/internet to stay save)

-Return to an earlier restore point.

-Reinstall Revit.

-Reinstall Windows & Revit.

-Upgrade Hardware.
