Revit changes font automatically

Revit is changing my font on its own even though the font is all Technic font. When multiple line of text are tabbed some of the lines change to a different font. Not all lines are effected even if they are tabbed as well. If the tabs before the lines are deleted the text goes back to normal(Second picture attached). When highlighted the text displays as it  should, I have attached a picture showing this. Technic is a (.ttf) so it works with Revit. It also plots as shown in the wrong font; which is the real problem. It does not do this with all fonts, but only a few and Technic is the font I have to use. Any solutions?

How was this text created? Was it imported or copy/pasted from another program?

I'm asking because there is at least one character not being recognized in between the words "slab on grade".

This example was copied from a PDF, but I have tried copying it from other Revit files and even retyping it from scratch in Revit. All have the same problem.

Let's focus on the rectangles replacing characters first. I'm a bit concerned about this because it might mean the font definition is corrupt or missing.

Does that happen with the text created from scratch in Revit?

No the rectangle does not show up if just typing from scratch the special characters show up as they should whether or not the text is "changing". The rectangles seem to be because I copied it from a pdf.

It looks like it may have something to do with the Technic font. I too am getting unexpected character formatting with it.

@barthbradley, That link is about installing fonts. I think it's obvious that the font is installed.

Uninstall and reinstall.

While that might be worth trying, I've got a feeling that it won't solve this issue unless we both have corrupt font definitions. It seems highly unlikely.

I wouldn't say that you're wrong. It's just unlikely that we would have similar behavior unless we obtained a corrupt font from the same source which I thought was Windows.

Now that you've brought my attention to it, I'm not sure where I got it from.  I've looked at a list of fonts that come with Windows and it isn't on it. I cannot determine where mine came from. I might have installed it from an old file on our network.

I wouldn't rule out a corrupt font just yet. Let's see what the OP comes back with.

No reinstalling did not work. We have noticed this problem on multiple computers running Windows 10, but we have one running Windows 7 that does not have this issue.

Where did you source the font file from?

Not sure, I am not the one that installed the font. It's the standard font my company uses.

If there's any real chance of the font definition being corrupted, which I doubt, you should use a different file to reinstall it. The file that I think was used on my computer was from '96. Rather than the definition being corrupt, maybe an updated version is in order.
