Revit: Cant see topography points for editing

Hi Guys

I cant see my topography points and it is visible in VG.Can someone please tell me whats wrong as it says that it is not visible or is there a better way to do a turning sloped ramp?

I suppose the Survey layout is a CAD file that you've inserted into the background of your project.

If you have Points in CAD files they can not be imported as POINTS into Revit because Revit doesn't recognize points as entities (only Conceptual Mas works with points but do not import them). Only the text value of the point will be visible but not the point symbol...

• If you want to use the CAD file only as a background image you can make a trick in the CAD file. 
  • Open the CAD file and place a block on each point location -once imported into Revit these blocks will be visible.
• If you want to create a Toposurface in Revit , using as frame the surveyor CAD file , then:
  • ask the surveyor to make isoline curves of the terrain so to make it visible. These isolines can be turned into Toposurface in Revit
  • or ask him/her to give you the point table  ( a text coma delimited file that contains a table of points, only X,Y and Z values) These .txt file can also be imported as a Toposurface in Revit
  • You can make your own Point Table in CAD by using Table function of AutoCAD , gathering all the point values from the file. These point table can then be turned , in Revit, into a Toposurface.

No CAD file was used. I can see the topography in 3d layout but i cant see the points in site plan or on groundfloor level to set every points height

Questions:

• Can you select the toposurface in Revit and click on the "Edit toposurface" button on the ribbon? - Is this option available?
• Where does the toposurface come from? Is this a linked model or has it been generated in your Revit file with Revit tools?
• If it comes from a linked Civil 3D file through BIM 360, there are limited options available for editing - More about that here: Revit 2019.1: Site Collaboration

Im still struggeling with it. Will you maybe be able to explain to me what would be the best way to draw a turning ramp please...

Hi @Anonymous,

OK. Now I understand, that you´d tried to model the Ramp using a Toposurface. 

I would suggest to go a different way. 

Probably the easiest way to achieve this is to draw a Floor element (Ribbon > Architecture > Floor) and applying Shape Editing and modifying the height of the corner points.

Another way would be to create a Ramp (Ribbon > Architecture > Ramp) and editing the boundary lines accordingly, however this way you would need to set the slope % very accurately, otherwise the geometry won´t be fitting and Revit will give you warnings.

Use wireframe view--then you can see the points.

Try adjusting the View Range in the plan view.  I had the same problem and found within the View Range, that the Bottom and View Depth were not low enough elevation for the points I was setting.
