Revit Area plan duplication

Is it possible to duplicate an area+area boundaries from one area scheme to another. Doesn't seem to be, even in 2024.

Is there a plugin or a work around?

Copy - Paste aligned to current view works.

Yep, I read your question the same way as @blank...  I too would say use Clipboard Copy/Paste Aligned to Same Place between Views to "duplicate" the annotative elements.

If this isn't what you mean by "duplicate", maybe you can expound on the question.  Help us to help you.

You cannot copy paste areas but you can copy paste area separation lines.  That get you half way there.

I figured as much - I had to use a plugin in the past. Just not looking to pay for it, was hoping there was a workaround now.

It gets me a third of the way there: I also have to do the tags, color scheme etc... Not really acceptable for a 30 story building with few repeating floors to boot.

Thanks, and thanks again for that sweet schedule you sent my way last week.

I don't know what anybody is talking about here. I can easily copy/paste to current view an Area Boundary - AND Area itself (including Tag!) - to different Level. Doing so creates a brand-spanking new Area/Number based on the "duplicated" Boundary/Area.  Where this workflow fails is when you Paste Aligned to Same Place. I misspoke in my above reply.

Same here.

Same here, had a brain fa*t, not aligned to same place but Paste from clipboard, then just move it where you need it.

We are talking about copy paste across area schemes, not from level to level within one scheme.  It was said in the first post.

Can't expect too much out of Autodesk, they're just a little startup company after all...

Why is this marked as "Accepted solution?".

Just stating the issue has no solution is not a solution.

People will often mark a post that states there is no way to do it, to help others who may be looking for a solution know that there isn't one or the close the discussion.
