Revit 2024 (italian) - impossible to purge all materials from Metric Generic Model template.

Hi,

I am working with the Metric Generic Model to build a personal family. I usually start by deleting all the default materials that came with the model, but there is always one material that is impossible to delete. It seems to be associated with a hidden element, but which one? Is it a bug? Any suggestions? Thanks!

Instead, if I open the file, the material continues to show up; even from a colleague's PC. So I would say that the problem is in the file but only when opened from the Italian version of Revit. Could the problem stem from the fact that the template was taken from the "English" folder? The point is that in the "Italian" folder the "Generic Metric Template" does not exist, and I had to start from the English one. Maybe there is incompatibility. I hope for some clarification from Autodesk.

You got me. All I know is that I can't replicate your issue.  I can clear all the Materials out, save, close and reopen the rfa - or change it to an rft and use it as a template - and still there are no Materials in it.

Do you have any add-ons installed that might be creating a default material?

If it isn't an add-on, try this: close Revit, rename the Revit.ini file or move it to another folder and restart Revit.  Then open the version of the file that you know for a fact doesn't contain any materials.

BTW: to establish it isn't an add-on causing, disable Add-ons.

It was an object style issue. Thank you also for your interest.

How does that solve the problem, which was your inability to delete all materials from the Template?  You should still be able to delete the Material if it's assigned to an Object Style.  I did.
