Revit 2023.1.4 crashes when I want to change a material keynote.

I can select the 3 dots and select a keynote, but I can't enter a keynote myself by typing.

Updating the file is not an option, as we work with several firms on this project.

Anyone has an idea plz ?

If directly entering keynotes causes a crash, try updating the keynote file directly:

  • Open the keynote file in a text editor.
  • Add or edit the keynotes as needed

If you are working in a workshared environment, try creating a new local file from the central file. Sometimes, local files can become corrupted.

It's been addressed on this forum before. The workaround is to go through the back door, so to speak. Tag some element with a Keynote Material Tag that has a label that reports that Parameter and then populate that Parameter in the Tag directly.  Doing so will populate the Parameter under the Material's Identity Tab.

Yes! Like I said above, the workaround is to populate those Material Identity Parameters through the "back door", such as through a Tag or a Schedule.

Looks like update 2023.1.5 is available on manage.autodesk.com now; supposed to fix the freeze issue...

2023.1.5 seems to fix the initial problem but when I duplicate a material and its asset, and then try to edit the asset name, Revit is still freezing. Closing the material editor and then reopening to edit the material asset name still results in a freeze. Closing the project file and then reopening allows the material asset name to be edited.
