Revit 2021 Viewer - "Worksharing is enabled." error

We have several Engineers in our office getting this error when they open their Revit Viewer.  

They are opening and detaching from Central.  However there are 10 plus Revit Links in the Project.  This error pops up for every Link.  It takes 10 plus minutes just to open this model.  

Is there a way to resolve this so this error doesn't appear any more?

This is the process we are doing.  However it will give the error message for all 10 links in the model even after it has been detached from central.  It takes about 10 minutes just to open in the Revit Viewer

Still, I would question why the Engineers are undoing a workshared Project.  Seems that cure would kill the patient, if you catch my drift.

They are only using a Revit Viewer.  No ability to make changes in a model.  Just need to get in and check progress and sometimes measurements.

No.  They are simply using a Revit Viewer.  I have tried to Detach from Centeral and also Create New Local copy.  I continually to get the error message of worksharing is enabled and it happens all ten links.  It literally takes over 10 minutes to open a project.  You can't walk away from your computer either because you have to hit close after each link

10 minutes is ridiculous. Are all the links in a central and easily accessible location or are they coming through some bottleneck?

They are kind of buried.  But not too deep.  I wouldn't think that would cause this.
