Revit 2021 Generative Design is not showing any results, outputs or 3D previews

I installed Revit 2021 recently (I have AEC Collection license).

I was trying the Generative Design tool , using the instructions from Revit Help Forum and Generative Design Primer.

I Tried the 3 study type which come with Generative Design (Three Box Massing, Maximize Window Views
and Workspace Layout) but I couldn't get any results, outputs or 3D previews.

Generative Design Issue - 03 Dynamo GenerativeDesign 0.75.1

When I opened " Workspace Layout.dyn" dynamo script, I got a notification that the GenerativeDesign is old 0.75.1 and the current one is 1.0.1 which came during installing the Revit.

I pressed on Install specified version then I tried keep installed version but without any effects to the results.

Finally, I checked the " Workspace Layout.dyn" Dynamo script, but I couldn't find if there is something wrong or missing

Hello @Moutaman, welcome to the Autodesk forums and thank you for the question!

To check if the issue you are seeing is specific to the current project (Building Sample Project – 2021 Rev.00), can you try going through similar steps with the attached file New 2021 Project.rvt?

Lance, I am having the exact same problems, as is someone else I know using Revit 2021. I was trying my own study, but used the file you provided and the OOTB workspace study.

I have attached screenshots of the outcome, or lack thereof.

I am presenting on Rhino Inside vs. Revit functionality on Thursday for a webinar, and was hoping to show this tool vs. Galapagos tool in Grasshopper. Hoping I don't have to conclude that there is no competition currently!

I am wondering if maybe the issue is related to where the results are processed - does this go to a cloud server for generation of the study like cloud rendering service? I am thinking maybe, as these studies worked for me the other week and I have not updated/added any new software to my machine since. I've had one windows update, so maybe that could be it as well.

@gavin-bimguru If you go to the following folder and launch the RestDynamoCore.exe do you see an error?
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AECGenerativeDesign\RestDynamoCore

Hi Lance, thanks for your suggestion - I managed this from a Dynamo perspective on the Dynamo forums also to solve the issue as fast as possible.

The issue was actually the dependency folder for the respective study, for some reason the package was not working in this folder (even though it was OK in the R2021 and appdata locations). I've made Jacob/Lili aware of this via the forums so should be OK now.

@Lance.Coffeyand @gavin-bimguru I received an update for Generative Design (v21.5.10) today and this update solved this issue.

Thank you for the update Moutaman. I’m glad to hear that the hotfix cleared the issue for you.

For anyone else having issues with Generative Design, at this point, I would definitely recommend installing that hotfix.

I have the same problem. I upgraded to the version you indicated, but the problem is still there. The results of Generative Design are white.

I've tried all the updates and still can't get the visualization. Dynamo is working and the create revit elements  function too, I just can't see the options thumbnails.

Solved, I was working with Dynamo for revit, and when I opened the script in the Dynamo sandbox I realized that there was a lot of packages missing. After loading packages some nodes was still working different than in Dynamo for revit, I did some adaptations to remove a custom node from lunchbox package and it started working in the gerenative design.

Still have the same problem, the output parameters are not shown in the application "refer to attached pic"

- I updated the generative to the last updated version. 

- The dynamo application is exactly the same as the exercise. find attached the file.

- Attached is the picture showing the problem.

- I found a solution by Autodesk that we have to run Revit as administrator, I did it but same problem.

Try to open the script in the Dynamo Sandbox. C:\Program Files\Dynamo\Dynamo Core\"Version in use"

For me, the solution was loading the packages in use in the dynamo for revit. I'm not an expert, but what I understood is that there is the dynamo for revit, the one we use by clicking the button in the revit tab and the Dynamo sandbox, which is independent and can be used without revit, it seems that the generative design uses the sandbox and the packages loaded in the dynamo for revit need to be uploaded manually in the dynamo sandbox.
