Revit 2020 - keynotes STILL disappearing

Keynote will disappear or the keynote description will not show up.

One instance I had the keynote but the description was not there.  In another instance (same drawing), the description was there but not the keynote.

See attached - keynote #101.04, 101.23, 101.24 is on the drawing but the description is not there.

Is there a fix?  Or am I supposed to go to the workaround used in 2017 and 2018??

We use keynotes everyday and I've never heard anybody say they disappear. Have you checked all your bases to make sure its not a user error? If you've been having this issue since Revit 2017, I'm thinking it might be your formatting rather than a Revit error.

Where is your keynote text file located? Local? Network?

Are you sure the text file formatting is correct? Maybe missed hitting 'tab' for a few of the lines?

What about your keynote settings?

The keynote file is located on our server/network with a relative path.  The keynote text file is from 2020's original .txt file.  I copy it, delete the default text, and then add my notes to it.  Numbering method is by keynote.  I attached a file with my original message (pdf) and as you can see I have keynotes on my drawing but the description is missing.  I double checked the text file and the "tab" is there.

For me to get description back, I have to delete the keynote on the drawing (ex. 101.01) and then re-insert the key.  That is my current work around.

Nevermind about the attached.  I fixed them and must have uploaded the file.  I'm good now but if it happens again, I will upload.  thanks for everyones replies!

We are also having this issue in 2020 and 2019 the last time this occurred in 2017 Autodesk told me that it was a bug that they were working on. It does not happen on every job or every time but once it starts it is a pain to deal with.  We did notice that if a view template was applied to the view we had to turn it off before we could get them to come back.

These are the workarounds from before you can see if they work again

This issue exists in Revit 2020, 2019. When will it be fixed?

Those kinds of questions usually go unanswered here in the user help forum. Have you tried more appropriate methods of reporting the issue?

Rob

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Not really, where to go to do it properly?

Look for IDEAS or Product Feedback.

report it directly to Autodesk as a support case. Include your journal files, models and any other applicable data

I put it in ideas. Seems like a known issue

It is a known issue. However Autodesk will not give it traction until enough users are reporting the issue. if you could link the Idea here so we all can vote for it that will be a start. But also submit a case file so that Autodesk has more information about who all is infected by this.
