Revit 2020 freezes when exporting to dwg

When I try to export to a dwg, Revit freezes and the interface turns light grey. Anybody have a fix or know what's causing this?

Journal attached.

No add-ins.  both|all (2021 LT, 2021, 2022 LT, & 2022 on PC and 2021 LT, 2022 LT on Laptop) are just clean out of the box installs.  We are still new to the platform.

Thank you for the journals @filip.kabelis!

From reviewing the provided journals, it looks like you are using the third party add-in ProSheets to export to DWG: Jrn.RibbonEvent "Execute external command:CustomCtrl_%CustomCtrl_%DiRoots%ProSheets%ProSheets:ProSheets.PSCommand"

From part of the exception that is occurring (const class AString), I’ve found a similar article which relates to saving to a path that is too long (more than 260 characters)

First, I would suggest trying to save the DWG to a location on your local C:\ with a relatively short path (e.g. C:\Temp\filename.dwg). If this works, check the original path length, and see about using a shorter path.

If this doesn’t help, try exporting to DWG using the built in DWG export File-> Export -> Cad Formats -> DWG to see if you get a different result.

Have you tried updating all your drivers? I have had a lot of issues in Revit 2022 lately and driver updates almost fixed everything except for my loading autodesk family which I am still looking for solutions to fix.

Looks like there were some Revit Updates that I missed.  Once installed it fixed the export issue.  sorry for wasting time on something that could have been fixed by updating things first.

I appreciate you looking into this for me.

I'd like to keep this topic open, as the problem still occurs for me.

I've changed export path to super short C:\export and downloaded latest hotfixes and patches.

Still it seems that revit hangs on these same custom hatch patterns. I left computer running with export overnight, and it actually did export these dwg's but does it really really slow.

Right now i'm running export of 9 dwg files and it exported first 3 in about 10 minutes. From time to time there's a new .pat file appearing in the export directory.

Using normal dwg export instead of DiRoots add-in produces same result - super long time of one dwg plot because of theses .pat files appearing in a very slow manner..

Weird because just 2-3 weeks before same exact .rvt model used to spit out .dwg much much quicker.

I've just measured - one .dwg floorplan on a sheet exports for over 4 minutes (!)

I think I've found the solution just right now. In DWG export styles, in Patterns there was an invalid path to acbiso file that seems to be responsible for correct export of hatches. Now that I put correct path these DWG export just fine. Case closed:)
