Revit 2019 Worksharing issues

Anonymous

We seemed to be having a very consistent issue with revit 2019 and files that are workshared.  They all have a issue talking back to the central file.  We get prompted with "can not communicate with central file" notifications as well just lots of "blue wheel" time while working in the files.  We aren't having any issues with 2018 files or below.  It seems to be isolated to workshared files in 2019.  It doesn't seem to matter if the file was upgraded from 2018 or created new.  It also doesn't seem to matter how big or small the project is either.

Have you try to install the latest updates from autodesk or create a new central file and see if helps. thanks

Hi @Anonymous

Sorry to hear that you are facing issues.

Can you see this article: Error When Accessing a Workshared File for recommendations to try and let me know if this helps with your issue?

Regards,

All machines are on 2019.0.1, which I think is the most current (as of right now)

It doesn't seem to be a network issue as it doesn't effect other versions of revit.  It is isolated to revit 2019

I'm the network administrator in charge of the network on which this issue is occurring. There is no SAN or NAS involved. These files are stored on a RAID5 array on a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine.

And I can verify that there seem to be no network issues aside from this one specific one. All other traffic, and all other versions of Revit are performing as expected. We spent hours on Friday performing benchmarking across the entire network and saw zero issues.

Have you tried running a Repair of the Revit 2019 installations? Sounds like there may have been a corrupt network deployment or something else wrong with the installation.

Hi @Anonymous

Can you share your Revit file, journal and other files for diagnosis?

I can create a private upload folder and a case for your issue.

Let me know, I look forward to your reply update.

Hi @Anonymous

I've shared the link, let me know if you have trouble accessing the folder.

Please find a collector utility to extract files for diagnosis and the 'read-me' document has the instructions to collect these files.

Let me know when you are done uploading and I will go ahead with the next steps.

Did this happen to correspond to a windows update?  Our machines freaked out a bit recently and were having similar issues, and we had to go in and repair the Revit installations.  It seems to have done the trick.

It's most likely a setting in 2019 that is different from the previous versions.

My first thought is "File Locations". Maybe Revit is looking for something it can't find.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Hi @Anonymous

Did you have a chance to upload these files? We can investigate further once we have your files to test.

I can't seem to upload files to that folder.  I got the container, and I have run it.  But when I go to upload the files it created it doesn't seem to work.

Is this post still being monitored? We've been unable to get the upload to work.

This is still an issue for us.

Hi @Anonymous

Yes, this thread is being monitored.

I changed the permission for the upload folder. Please let me know if you can upload the files now.

Hi @Anonymous

Can you drag and drop contents?

Do you have an alternate location to share the files?
