In one project I'm working in, whenever I try to copy a view with detailing, an "unrecoverable error" or "fatal error" occurs and Revit is shut down.
I tested several things in the document where the error occurs consistently:
- Duplicate elevation view with detailing -> "a fatal error has occured. the application will be terminated" almost instantly.
- Duplicate plan view with detailing -> it takes forever, whereby first revit shows many times: "commiting transaction: extending changes to <names I recognize as attached detail groups>" and then "generating graphics of <new view>", after which Revit crashes with "unrecoverable error".
- Duplicate view as dependent -> works instantly.
I also checked the following:
- I tried going back to the original file as it was handed to me. Error occurs
- I used a small test document. Duplicate works
- I used another (equally large) project. Duplicate works
Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this and how to fix it? Or more things I can try to pinpoint what the problem is?
