Revit 2018.0.2 - Text Prints Oversized

In Revit 2018, the text views fine in model but gets large in print preview, actual prints, and .pdf prints, running out of borders and off the page.  This includes text notes, room names, title blocks, and anything using text.  Huge issue since we cannot issue construction documents until this is resolved.  This appears to happen with all fonts but as a standard, we use Arial.

Is it prossible you have a MAC with a high resolution monitor?

Look at this post:

My screen is high resolution however if I lower the resolution, it still does not solve the problem.

It is good you mentioned that you are on Mac, using bootcamp.

I have to admit that I don't have a lot of experience with it but someone will hopefully take over to help.

Solution should be in this post though:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/revit-2018-on-windows-10-bootcamp-print-to-p...

It says lowering the resolution or dpi should be followed by a restart.

Success !

Our issue ended up being a setting in windows 10  that changed the size off app fonts by default it was set t 150% larger.

There are actually two places to check these settings in windows 10.

The latest Windows 10 does not give you the option of changing App fonts.

No. I have reinstalled Windows 10 and REVIT 2018 and still get oversized text as per attached.

Really getting frustrated now.

It all worked before Windows 10 updated itself.

Same boat here, can't print construction documents. Was printing with no problems before the (unauthorized) Windows update.

Try changing your app fonts this way:

Right click on your screen and click on "Display Settings".

Scroll down to "scale and layout" and set to 100%.

Restart and see what Revit does.

No dice, text is still screwed up.

Reinstalled R18, not fixed.

Side note, R16 text is still unaffected.

Any update on this issue?

In some of our Revit 2018 files, their text keep extends over the text box! Does not have this issue on Revit 2017!!!

Hi @Anonymous

Can you share your file and journal to test further? I can send you a private folder to upload.

Is this specific to one machine?

Looking forward to your reply update.

Regards,

Ok it turns out that, in my case,  the problem happens if a user is using the same font but in a different version.

So far updating it to the standard family font version will solve the problem, will keep monitoring.

Hi @es1004

2018.3.1 is the latest update. Can you confirm the same?

Also what PDf printer are you using? What is the font you use? Is this issue model/font specific?

Thanks,
