Revit 2016 Systems Tab Missing

Anonymous
Not applicable

My company recently purchase a license for Revit 2016. I opened the program and noticed there is no systems tab to do any MEP design. Am I missing something, I thought that those services were all included under one program? Or is there an add on that I need to download and install?

Look in the Options, then User Interface and see if the systems tab is selected.

Hi @mumarshad

Which version of Revit are you using?

The Tools and Analyses options display only if you are using Autodesk Revit. They are not available if you are using Revit Architecture, Revit Structure, Revit MEP, or a discipline-specific edition of Autodesk Revit.

mumarsahdm, in Revit 2016 Options/User Interface there are options for Systems tab: Mechanical with a subchoice for Mechanical Analysis Tools. My Revit 2016 is a part of Building Design Suite Premium but I'm pretty sure that shouldn't make a difference

Edit: well, I guess it does make a difference...thanks Viveka!

Hi @mumarshad

There is a difference in the product versions between Revit Architecture 2016 and Revit 2016

  • Revit Architecture 2016 is separate, everything is for Architecture and design and does not include Revit MEP in the application, whereas
  • Revit 2016 is a single application that includes features for architectural design, MEP and structural engineering, and construction.
  • If you are using Revit Architecture 2016, the Ssytems MEP tab and “System Color Schemes” option will not be available. You need to model any MEP elements by creating in place families or downloading from resources.

For questions on subscription and upgrading your product please post in the Installation and licensing forum.

For the 2017 version Revit & Revit Architecture,Structure and MEP are all inclusive.

If you have additional questions, let us know.Glad to help.
