Hi @Anonymous,
I understand, you can only open the Revit 2011 project in Revit 2019 if you are activating the Audit function, but this way Revit will purge project data, that you wanted to keep in the project.
In this situation I would suggest the following:
- Try to upgrade the project in multiple steps - i.e.: From Revit 2011 to 2012 > From 2012 to 2013... etc.
Note the following suggestions below as well:
- Save a copy of the Revit 2011 project file
- Open the original file in Revit 2011 with Audit and go through the warnings (Ribbon > Manage > Inquiry > Review Warnings) > try to correct them all > Save the file again
- Make sure that you can access and fill out the project informations in Manage > Settings > Project Information
- Open the last recorded Journal file with Notepad or Notepad++ in the folder: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\<Product name and release>\Journals
- Hit Ctrl+F to search for the following term: “NON_EXISTENT_CONTENT_DOC”
- If Notepad finds anything with that, note the family names associated with this error (in the same line in the journal) and reload them in the project, otherwise just move on to the next steps.
- Save the corrected version of the Revit 2011 file
- Open it in a newer release of Revit using Audit and export the warnings, Revit displays
- Check the elements by ID, in the exported reports and adjust the Revit 2011 file again before attempting another upgrade process.
This way you can optimize the upgrade process and minimize the risk of losing project data.
Let us know if that helps - use the "Accept as Solution" button if it does.
If it doesn´t, let us know more details about the elements that you are losing during the upgrade.
Regards,
