Reverse Door opening in External Door

Hi there everyone - just learning and using Revit 2012. I have inserted an external door - no problem, I have reversed the swing of the door but this then makes the external cill on the inside of the wall - how can i change the opening swing of an external door and keep the internal/external correct?

They flip the whole door set and bring the cill to the internal side of the external wall

I'm not following you. Got pictures? Sounds like you what to flip the "cil" independently. Is that right?  

...if I am reading you right, you may need model two "cil" conditions in the Family and use Visibility Parameters to control which one is visible.

You know how there is an 'outside' to an external door and there is an 'inside' to the door? This is differentiated by the cill and the position of the door frame within the external wall. I want the 'outside' of the door to be on the outside of the wall but the door is to open outwards....If you flip the door, it moves the cill to the inside face of the external wall - it doesn't just make the door open outwards

Second, post the door family (RFA) here.  Know how?

No, I don't know how to post the RFA.....It is a standard one from Revit though

The easiest quick fix for you will probably be to open the family and switch the side the cill is on. You'll want to save it as a new family though, because it will switch ALL doors of that family if you just switch it and reload it. So switch, save as new family, and load into project.

The way flipping doors works in Revit isn't just flipping the swing. It actually flips the entire family, as you've discovered here. But you can absolutely create a custom family that allows things like the cill side to be controlled. I would encourage you to go down that rabbit hole if you have the time.
