Render option greyed out

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi all. I've tried everything but my "Render" option under "View" is greyed out and not selectable. I've tried the following based on all the research I could find online:

1. Made sure I'm in a 3D view.

2. Made sure I don't have a crazy scale.

3. Created a new 3D view/duplicated it.

4. Uninstalled and Re-installed material libraries (in order). (I don't get the rendering disabled error at startup).

5. Uninstalled and Re-installed Revit.

6. Added "AdditionalRenderAppearancePaths=..\..\..\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\1\Mats" to my Revit.ini file.

Not sure what else to short of wiping my system clean. Any tips appreciated.

Thanks!

@pendean Thanks for the reply, but as mentioned in my original post, I've already checked to make sure I'm in a 3D view.

@ennujozlagam Even camera view doesn't work. Option is still greyed out.

The link/tip also suggests creating a new 3D View to render.

Then try to install latest updates from autodesk and see if helps. Thanks

Thanks for the additional suggestions. I do have all the latest updates installed, and I have tried using the camera option, but still have the "render" greyed out.

What happens if you type in RR?

Typing in RR does nothing. Double checked and made sure it's still associated with render, but it doesn't do anything.

Thanks for all the replies. I contacted Autodesk support and it turns out I had to rebuild my Windows user profile. Not sure what happened, but somehow some files/info/something got corrupted with my user.

One more thing to check.

Check your view template, you may have it set to a view template that will not let you change render options.  Set the view template to <none>.
