Removing design option -- can't figure out how view is associated

Found a new issue I haven't seen before with a user. They are trying to delete a design option but keep getting a warning about views being deleted. Usually this means that the visibility/graphic overrides and/or view template have the design option set to show the specific design option that is being deleted.

However I cannot figure out how these views are associated with the design option. All of the views listed below have the design options set to <automatic> as well as any parent views. I even tried setting them to show a specific design option that is NOT being deleted -- same result. Is there another way views can be associated with a design option?

Visible in Option?

Both parent & dependent are set to "all" with no other options selectable.

Interestingly, if I duplicate any of these views with detailing, they are not deleted as part of deleting the design option.

Can you show your design option tree and point out which one you want to delete?

The highlighted option is the one to be deleted:

Are the views assigned with a View Template?  Is Design Options included or excluded in the View Template?

  1. They have a view template, design options included. Tried removing the view template and deleting the design option, same error.

At this point I'm probably going to chalk this up to data corruption and remake the views. I've tried setting the design option to the primary in those views, setting "visible in option" to another design option, etc. to no avail.

Were these views created by calling out from design option views?

I'm not sure -- the parent view is definitely not associated with a design option but it's possible one of the team members made the callout with different v/g overrides active.
